Consultation. It first starts with a thorough consultation with an orthodontist. During this step, the actual condition of the teeth will be determined, followed by molding of the entire dental structure. Your orthodontist will then model a specific dental brace based on your dental structure and condition. Actual brace application may take place few days after the first consultation.

A special glue or cement is used to put all the brackets in place. After this, the arch wire are then inserted through the brackets, to work as the primary force in moving the teeth in the right position.. 


Adjustments. The adjustment period and frequency are crucial in achieving the desired results from the orthodontic treatment. Regular visits will allow your orthodontist to check on the movement and progress of your teeth. Furthermore, the rubbers and arch wire needs to be constantly tightened depending on the progress of your treatment.


Aftercare. After two to three weeks of braces removal, you will then be asked to start wearing retainers to prevent unnecessary movement of the teeth especially because they are still unstable in the first few weeks. Your orthodontist will determine how long you need to wear the retainers.
